What ROKLIM is — and what it is not.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes — 7 days free, no credit card. Enter your email at roklim.com (Free trial), the key comes by email; every module and all Premium content. The 7 days start when you activate the key. One trial per computer.
Where do I download ROKLIM?
The latest installer is always at roklim.com/download. You also get the link after checkout. Activate it with your license key; step by step: Getting started.
Is ROKLIM a DaVinci plugin?
Better than that: a standalone app for Windows and Mac that works like a caption plugin without installing one. It adds no Fusion templates, so there is no template to hit Resolve’s “You have reached a limitation” error or to break when Resolve updates. Resolve stays running; ROKLIM talks to it through the scripting API. Resolve Studio: Preferences → System → General → External scripting using = Local. Free Resolve: Workspace → Scripts → ROKLIM, once each time you open Resolve.
Does it work in the free version of Resolve?
Yes. In the free DaVinci Resolve choose Workspace → Scripts → ROKLIM once each time you open Resolve, and everything works.
Selected clips only?
Resolve: tick Selected clips only and ROKLIM works on the clips you selected on the timeline. After Effects Animation: In/Out and Selected. Premiere Pro: time range — not marker selection.
Mac?
Yes. ROKLIM runs on Mac — Apple silicon (M1–M4) and Intel — with the same license key. Download it at roklim.com/download. The first time you open it, macOS says it cannot verify the app (it is not notarized by Apple yet): press Done, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway — why, step by step with pictures. The After Effects / Premiere Pro panels are Windows only.
Does it transcribe speech?
Yes. ROKLIM makes word-by-word subtitles from the timeline audio, on your computer, with OpenAI Whisper (via whisper.cpp). It uses the Balanced speech model — the best timing in our tests; it downloads once (181 MB). Or bring your own SRT or subtitle track.
Windows says “protected your PC”. Is it a virus?
No. That is SmartScreen: the installer is not signed by a known publisher yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.
Why one Text+ clip per word?
Resolve: 1 word = 1 Text+ clip. After Effects: 1 word = 1 text layer. Change a typo or a time — layout stays.
How is this different from Magic Subtitles, Snap Captions or Caption Cat?
Those are Fusion / caption plugins inside Resolve. They animate titles or the subtitle track. ROKLIM sits outside Resolve and writes ordinary Text+ clips. You keep Edit-page control of each word. Fusion template packs often hit Resolve’s “You have reached a limitation” wall or break on a version bump — ROKLIM does not install Fusion templates.
After Effects and Premiere Pro?
Beta, still in development, and Windows only. Panels for After Effects (Layout, Animation, VFX) and Premiere Pro (SFX) come with the same license key; install them from the ROKLIM app on Windows: Adobe tab → Install. The main product is for DaVinci Resolve.
Who owns the SFX samples?
The sounds in the catalog are third-party or public-domain assets bundled for convenience. ROKLIM owns the app, not the audio. Verify the original license before commercial use.
What does a subscription include?
$40 / month, cancel anytime. Layout, Animation, SFX and VFX for DaVinci Resolve on Windows and Mac. Premium is included too — every Premium animation, layout and VFX effect in the ROKLIM catalog.
