SFX puts sounds on the timeline exactly where your Text+ words are. Which sound a word gets is chosen by the clip colour or by the word itself. Sounds are timed to the start, middle or end of each word clip.
Colour → sound
- Choose your sounds folder (Browse). Sounds picked in the catalog are saved there.
- Set the video tracks that hold your Text+ clips (Where the words are).
- Set where the sounds go: audio tracks from First sound track; when sounds overlap, up to Max tracks are used.
- Mark the time range with I and O in Resolve (ROKLIM reads the marks by itself) or tick Selected clips only.
- Each row is a clip colour and its sound: pick the colour in the row's list, then the sound — … picks a file, Web and Local open the catalog where you can listen first. Trk is the audio track for that sound; Start / Mid / End is where on the clip it lands. + Add color adds a row, ✕ removes one; clips of colours without a row get no sound. A row shows only the file name; click into it to see or change the full path.
- Press RUN (color).
Offset shifts sounds placed at Start a few frames later and sounds at End a few frames earlier; Mid is always the exact middle.
Word → Sound
Word → Sound gives particular words their own sound — for example a cash-register sound on "money", a whoosh on "fast". It works alongside the colour sounds. The list shows the filled rows (at least three); + Add row adds one, ✕ removes one. The window grows wider while it is open.
Adjustment sounds
Adjustment sounds puts a sound on coloured adjustment clips — for example the ones VFX places at markers — so every effect gets its sound too. Rows work like the colour rows; each colour can have a second sound, in the line below the first.
